They are off to London to meet Garrick's parents. Scary stuff. Great addition to the series. ( ) Keeping Her The Characters Garrick Taylor and Bliss Edwards The Story Garrick and Bliss have settled into life together and are about to be married. A trip to London to meet Garrick’s parents should be fun, right? Not for Bliss. Stress, worry and a scare about a big change in life marr thoughts of a good time. Thank goodness Bliss has level headed Garrick to calm her down but she also proves that Garrick should be so thankful for her by the end too. The Random Thoughts 4 Stars While I liked the book and I'm a fan of the author, I felt like this book wasn't really worth it. Like I said, I liked it, but it was so short. I know, it was supposed to be a novella, but it felt too short to even be classified as that. It seemed like the development of the story could have been helped if it had been fleshed out. I just expected more from it, I guess. I loved Bliss and Garrick’s story in Losing It. I think that despite it being a chewed up idea for a romance, Cora Carmack did a great job reinventing it. It was fresh and sweet. And after Faking It, where we got Cade’s story, it was so much fun getting another glimpse at Garrick and Bliss’s life. If you haven’t read Faking It – read it before continuing with this review. Garrick and Bliss are visiting his family in London. And there’s a whole side of Garrick’s life Bliss wasn’t aware of. Like his family’s money and his upbringing. But being engaged, meeting your future in laws is an unavoidable step. After meeting his two best friends, Bliss makes quite an entrance upon arrival to Garrick’s family home. A “can I please bury myself under a mountain and never come out” kind of entrance. But then proceeds to change his mother’s opinion on her. A little. After all, she does admit her to be a “Disney villain.” The visit to London goes well, if you disregard a little bump in the road, a little bit of embarrassment and a little scare. I loved this view into Garrick and Bliss’s future, their insecurities and potential struggles. But I mostly loved how they both love each other SO much. Garrick… Mmm…. *nibbles* A full review is available on my blog! Really, really cute. All the acting/theater talk and the massive insecurities of the main character kind if bummed me out, but it's great otherwise. I think I don't like these characters as much as those in Carmack's other books because Losing It has kind of a gimmicky plot (as do so many first books; I'm sure it's easier to sell those that lean more High Concept), and that particular gimmick did not appeal to me. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

Garrick Taylor and Bliss Edwards managed to find their happily-ever-after despite a rather . . . ahem . . . complicated start. By comparison, meeting the parents should be an absolute breeze, right? But from the moment the pair lands in London, new snags just keep cropping up: a disapproving mother-in-law-to-be, more than one (mostly) minor mishap, and the realization that perhaps they aren't quite as ready for their future as they thought. As it turns out, the only thing harder than finding love is keeping it. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
