Descriptions of the scenery/sights, as well as the characters are beautiful. I found each person to be unique and three-dimensional. They meet as college age kids, and go through some of the misunderstandings and heartbreaks of that age, all of them written with heart We get snapshots of their lives over the next 30 years, and end up during a reunion in Tuscany. I liked the end, I found the story real, heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. After reading this, I will look for more books by Gail Mencini.
