"If something or someone is presented to us once, we will often dismiss it as being nothing more than happenstance. If that person or situation is presented twice, it is God slapping us in the face and telling us to pay attention. It is fate."Since she was sixteen years old, Kace Meadows has known love hurts, literally. Now, after ten years in an abusive relationship, Kace is realizing what she has isn't love or a healthy relationship. No matter what she does, she can't win. One day, while in an argument with her boyfriend in public, she meets an unlikely hero.Shane Dekkar is a cocky but rather modest unknown boxer. Growing up in Compton, California, he knows what it takes to be tough, street smart and how to fight. He battles his inner demons in the boxing ring and has never lost a match. After losing his grandfather he moves to Austin, Texas. Almost immediately upon arrival into the new city, Shane witnesses an argument between Kace and her boyfriend. When he tries to intervene, he is assured by Kace it is simply a disagreement. Shane's instinct tells him otherwise; he sees the pain and fear in her eyes as he watches them drive away. When they meet by chance again two years later, Shane sees their meeting as fate. Will Kace be able to walk away from the abusive relationship she has been in for over a decade? Is it possible for her to find comfort in the arms of an alpha male boxer? Will Shane be able to conquer his inner demons and settle into a relationship? "Hildreth's writing is a perfect balance between understated, precise storytelling and a bare-knuckled, in your face, street riot of color, words and images. Every scene is paced so gorgeously that by the end of the book you are both begging for it and utterly satiated. I'm telling you, this man can write." - Goodreads review by Shanyn"The hottest & sexiest inspirational story ever written!! Scott Hildreth's knowledge and understanding of real emotions, fears, psychological scars, courage and healing are so precise. His gifted writing style pulls you into the scene and you feel every single emotion." - Goodreads review by Beth West… (mais)

1 star... I didn't like it! I was contemplating ZERO stars but I didn't totally hate it! This story had the potential to be amazing. Believe it or not, the violence wasn't what turn me off. What turned me off what the writing style and SOOOOOO may storyline errors. I don't think this book was read by a professional editor as the mistake were obvious. Not to mention that the things they said and did were just wrong! She peed herself 3 TIMES before 33% of the story. Who at age 26 pees themselves? Peeing yourself is neither cute or sexy that is just gross. She gets the crap beat out of her, wakes up from being unconscious, goes into shock, and then is getting all wet thinking about having sex with Shane. There are too many more to list... it's just ridiculous.

This was horrible. So many mistakes and events that make little to zero sense. A complete waste of time. This was a DNF for me at 53%. I couldn't even stomach myself to skim.... I don't even want to look at it. How it got so many 4 and 5 star ratings is beyond me. ( )

Shane 'Shame On' Dekkar is a gorgeous but quiet undefeated but unknown boxer. After the death of his grandfather he leaves Compton, California and moves to Austin, Texas. Upon arrival he must prove himself, so he has to face off against the undefeated Mike Ripton. Ripp eventually becomes Shane's closest friend. Shane is aware of his inner demons and he uses his fists to keep the demons satisfied and at bay. But his world gets shaken up when he comes across Kace and her boyfriend arguing in a parking lot.
Kace Meadows has been with her extremely abusive boyfriend, Josh for 10 years. He is all she knows. He has destroyed her self confidence and broken her spirit. She seems to believe when he says it's her fault, that it really is. He has a reason for every for every slap, hit, and punch. He controls every aspect of her life, including monitoring her cell phone. She never questions leaving the relationship until a gorgeous stranger interrupts an argument in the parking lot.
Shane and Kace's paths cross again some time later when he stumbles upon where she works. Shane is determined that he will make her his.
"...Get your little sticky note pad and get a new note, Kace. Write this on it. I'm coming, Kace. I'm coming for your heart..."
Can Shane help Kace find the strength to finally leave Josh? Will Shane be able to win her over and capture her heart? Will Kace help Shane become aware of his demons and finally face them?
"...Every time I come home, every time I meet you for lunch, every time I wake up and look over at you, ... You're more beautiful than I remember you being..."
Scott Hildreth knows how to reach inside of you and leave you completely gutted and an emotional wreck. Then he slowly pieces you back together again. He also makes you laugh and turns you on by throwing in dome humor and steamy sex scenes. I absolutely loved this book. I can relate to Kace on so many levels. I love the fact that you get to really see into how both Shane and Kace really feel with this story switching up the POVs. And you get a taste of Ripp as well. I look forward to reading his story. I must say personally asked Scott on which book of his I should read first and he pointed me in the direction of Alpha Bet. I already had Undefeated after a few people recommended it to me. I can say I am now a Scott Hildreth fan and I look forward to reading many more of his books. But for now I give Undefeated a Nerd Alert A or 5 stars! ( )

Good story line but could do with polishing. I love me some fighters! I give it a solid 3.5 stars. ( )
