The unique placement of Istanbul will be an excellent fact for your child to know. I wish the United States had a Children's Day to celebrate and teach children about our government and culture the way the children do in Turkey. Maybe you could host a Children's Day Celebration in your own community or neighborhood. Through historical facts, cultural tidbits, and accurate illustrations, Roman's books will teach and engage your children in conversations about other cultures and countries. This exciting new children's series written by Carole P. Roman, focuses on learning about and appreciating the many cultures that make up our small planet. Interesting facts and colorful illustrations help children to realize that although the world is large, people all over the globe are basically the same. Perfect for children from Pre-K to age eight. I enjoyed reading this series, myself. In my opinion, each book teaches children about new cultures effortlessly - in a way that is entertaining and fully captures a child's attention. I give the whole series a definite A+! f You Were Me and Lived in...Turkey is another excellent addition to Carole P. Roman’s unique series of books to introduce children to other cultures around the world. She introduces the children to common boy and girl names, foods, what children call their parents, places to go, games to play, and answering all the questions that a child would ask. The books are described as for pre-K through age eight. Younger children will enjoy the colorful and playful illustrations and while you read to them, and young readers will enjoy learning about how other children live. I highly recommend all of the books of this series for parents, grandparents, and for use in preschool and elementary schools. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

I do enjoy these series of books because it is like a beginner's class on countries I don’t know much about. I don’t have children but my inner child tells me she would have liked these books as well.
My only reservation is I feel that there could be more to learn but I think that is the adult in me. Maybe the amount of information is just right for a child.
I think this series will be really helpful for kids once they reach age fo social studies classes and have reports to do. ( )
