This is messed up, and in a way I wasn't expecting. There is certainly a horror/Carrie-esque feel here, which you don't fully appreciate until the end. I think I would have enjoyed this more had the layout been more cohesive and not blocks of the same story from different POVs over and over. ( )

Very dark and at times creepy. Incredibly enticing. The format - the back and forth - and the ties between the characters and their insights into the story really make this book a showstopper. I will never underestimate teachers. ( )

It's been awhile since I've read a thriller this good. I absolutely love the way it was written; each chapter has a different character pov and it's written as letters, diary entries and an end of the school year speech. So it's definitely chocked full of unreliable narrators and it has lots of fun plot twists that made it hard to put down. ( )

Wow, I LOVED this book. I read a copy from the library but now I feel like I have to own it. It's a very quick read and I couldn't put it down. I read it in 2 days. I loved the journey and the different perspectives of this book. I think what makes this more shocking is it having to do with kids who murdered a kid. The other thing is, you just don't know someone's background and where they're coming from. But the revenge in this book, so good. SPOILER: I was shocked in the end when the teacher blew up the kid's mom...and probably many other people. But it will absolutely look like the kid did it. Insane, literally insane. This is one of those books that I enjoyed reading and will continue to think about. If I ever see this when I'm out and about, I'll definitely be picking it up! ( )

Minato spins out this gut-wrenching thrill ride with clean, high-impact language and a structure that allows for several points of view. The story unfolds in six chapters featuring different narrators, all speaking in the first person under different conceits. There's a speech, letter, a diary, a Web manifesto, all of which offer an immediate, confessional tone that makes looking away impossible.
