"Armond doesn't want to go to Felicia's birthday party. Parties are noisy, disorganized, and smelly--all things that are hard for a kid with Asperger's. Worst of all is socializing with other kids. But with the support of Felicia and her mom, good friends who know how to help him, he not only gets through the party, but also has fun. When his mom picks him up, Armond admits the party was not easy, but he feels good that he faced the challenge--and that he's a good friend. A great book for anyone to learn about coping with autism or Asperger's"-- "A boy with Asperger's overcomes his social challenges to help a friend celebrate her birthday"--… (mais)

A timely story that sheds light on a young boy with Asperger's and his daily struggles to get through basic events and tasks. A great selection for public and school libraries as well as home bookshelves. Armond is a modern hero who overcomes great lengths to celebrate with his friends and be himself.

This short story book was about a kid named Armond, who has Aspergers. Armond is invited to his friend, Felicia's birthday party. When he finds out that his mom is making him go to the party he gets really nervous. He does not like parties that are unorganized, noisy, and smelly, but Armond ends up being happy that he went anyways. He knows that it meant a lot to Felciia for him to be there and he was proud of himself for going regardless of how nervous he was. This is a great book to introduce disabilites to students. This book would be a great lesson to teach students how everyone is different, but we accept them regardless of whats different about them. I think this would be a great story to share in a classroom. ( )
