Let Me In was different though. The storyline has been done before: abused gal leaves her abuser, but is being pursued. Hero vows to rescue her and saves the day. This time, while predictive, it was written with an enchanting quality. The hero, Riker, was the right amount of mysterious and sweet. From the moment he was introduced I wanted to know more about him. He has his issues, but there’s an endearing quality to him. It’s obvious he wants more for himself. And I’m a big sucker for his dry sense of humor. I love the subtly and unexpectedness of some of his jokes. Aubrey was eh, ok. I don’t think there was anything too outstanding about her. It was her story, but Riker definitely stole the show.
Overall, I liked Let Me In. It wasn’t a unique story, but it wasn’t overly dramatic and played out. I’d give it 3.5-4 stars, mainly just for Riker. ( )
