Somewhere in a darkened room behind London's famous Opera House there is a young, orphaned boy with a mysterious past and an extraordinary talent: he sings like an angel, but refuses to speak. Through the generosity and and kindness of George Frederic Handel, the power and glory of his majestic music and the sometimes painful memories the composer reveals about his own life, the young boy's spirit and soul are healed, unlocking the voice of an angel. This story was suspenseful as "the Keeper" was the villian on the story. Hallelujah Handel shows that no matter what class a child is in that children all have dreams and talents that must be explored. No matter the circumstances there has to be a way out. In this tale the way out was the young boys biggest inspiration. The best classical music composer, George Frideric Handel, helped this child out of despair. This story is interesting as it shows that love and humanity will always conquer fear and poverty. Handel showed utmost love towards the poor lad, making sure he got a better life. For the young boy's ambition and talent he gained his way out of poverty and used his angelic singing to pave the path to healing. His soul was hurt in the beginning but learned how to soar on angels wings at the end. This book rather offends me by its indoctrination, because it twists facts. Read Mainwaring's biography of Handel and you will learn that Handel was not a believer until he achieved the commission to write the Messiah. I suspect he had to 'get into it' to write such a gorgeous work, but also I'd bet that he backed away from the certitude of God etc. afterward. For Cowling to go for big sales to the religious with a picture book unscrutinising parents and unscrupulous churches will 'sell' to their flock is shameful. I adore Handel's music, but to paint him as a religious man is to paint a false story. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
