In Hard Fall, Book 5 of the Lucy Guardino FBI Thriller series, the author seems to have lost her edge a little. The writing isn't as good as the previous books even though the plot line holds plenty of promise. The action scenes are still excellently done and will get your heart pumping.

This book picks up immediately following the last book. The plot alternates with the memoirs of the sexual abuse victim, June Unknown. The set up of the storyline is quite long and the pace picks up as it nears the last third of the book.

As with most female police protagonists, the reader must suspend logic to allow for the super intelligence of the principal and how much physical suffering they can bear. Hard Fall stretched the limit of this for me as Lucy was still recovering from serious injuries sustained in the previous book.

She has also somewhat closed out her husband and daughter and this is also a big concern as the Lucy series revolves a lot around the family dynamic.

After a somewhat quick and happy wind up, Lucy leaves us wondering what her next career steps will be.

Hard Fall was good, but not up to the standard of the previous books, in my opinion. ( )

Excellent end to Lucy Guardino's FBI career as Special Agent in Charge of sex crimes against children. Lucy definitely comes across as a superhero again as she saves the day. Her husband Nick, and daughter, Meghan, are again a key part of the story.

I read the series in order and would advise reading the books that way. Very well done thriller series ( )

HARD FALL by C.J. Lyons is an exciting Romantic Suspense. # 5 in the "Lucy Guardino FBI Thrillers" series, but can be read as a stand alone. Although, I would recommend reading the others in this amazing series, especially "After Shock",which "Hard Fall" continues the story.
Faced paced,action packed thriller. This is a high-stake adventure, with dire consequences. Romantic suspense at it's best!

Once again, Ms. Lyons delves into the human soul. This tale is not for the faint of heart, for this is a tale of dark human emotions, violence with realistic consequences,and very adult situations.

I love the way Ms. Lyons brings her characters to life on every page and beyond, her emotional tales are awe-inspiring. Ms. Lyons writes tales that not only holds you to the pages, but kicks you emotions into high gear. High-octane, heart pumping tale of sacrifice, romance and love. A must read for anyone who enjoys high-octane emotions with realistic characters and an intriguing storyline.

What is in Lucy's future? I see more coming soon. This is not the end to Lucy Guardino. An awesome read from beginning to the very last page. A must read!
