It's springtime in Savannah, Georgia, in the newest Consignment Shop Mystery from the national bestselling author of Pearls and Poison. The azaleas and magnolias are in bloom-and Walker Boone is on the run. . . When Reagan Summerside turned the first floor of her old Victorian home into a consignment shop, she never imagined she'd be harboring a fugitive in her attic. But after a dead man is found in a bathtub and local lawyer Walker Boone is accused of doing the dirty deed, she suddenly has a new houseguest. Having the lawyer who took her to the cleaners in her divorce settlement-and who has been getting under her skin ever since-in close proximity is enough to drive Reagan to distraction. For the sake of her sanity-and Walker's freedom-they need to put their heads together to find out who is trying to get the lawyer out of the picture . . .… (mais)

Another great book. I was surprised at who the killer is. ( )

Boone is wanted for the murder of his father. Blackmail and greed go hand in hand in this story. It's up to Reagan and Aunt Kiki to the rescue. Well, it's up to Boone to do the rescuing. Reagan once again manages to have everyone want to kill her.

I laughed out loud throughout this book. Reagan gets into so much trouble. I still want to know what Boone is going to do about his Chevy. There is also a story line that does not get closed in this book. I hope the next book closes that story line and shuts down those phony competitors. There is nothing better than a day with Reagan and Boone. And I was not expecting that ending. Truths come out. ( )

Continuing series of Reagan Summerside, consignment shop owner and amateur sleauth. Reagan gets into her same old shenanigans with the help of many favorite cast members, this time trying to prove her (maybe) love interest, Walker Boone is being framed for the latest murder. Lots of fun, great references to the city of Savannah, and without spoilers, the end leaves a cliffhanger, or two! ( )

Demise In Denim is the fourth book in the A Consignment Shop Mystery series.

Reagan Summerside is happy to have Walker Boone's '57 Chevy convertible to cruise around in, but at the same is concerned that he is on the lam for being suspected of killing his father, Conway Adkins. Boone never knew he was his father and that he will be inheriting The Old Harbor Inn, a valuable piece of real estate and a part of Savannah's history. Reagan still hasn't forgiven Boone for doing her wrong in her divorce settlement with her husband, Hollis. But on the other hand, there is something about his physical appearance that pushes her buttons and feels she must find the person that is trying to frame him.

With the help of her Aunt Kiki, Reagan sets off to find the person that wanted Adkins dead, the most. The more she looks, the more suspects she gets, but at the same time she can see that Boone is being framed. Hopefully she will find that person before the police find Boone, as she is sure the police will stop looking to anyone else. She finds that Mason Dixon has wanted the presidency of The Plantation Club, that Adkins had, plus there was money changing hands that might have some bearing. Reagan also starts to investigate Grayden Russell, a somewhat less than reputable land developer, who wants to buy The Old Harbor Inn and other properties. Also a person of interest is Adkins' son, Tucker. Tucker has a problem with alcohol and gambling. He has spent his mother's inheritance and needs The Old Harbor Inn to continue his present life style.

Chantilly and Mercedes, from early books, are back once again to help Reagan and to provide some good ol' Southern humor that we have learned to love in the previous books.

Looking forward to the next book in the series to see what adventures Reagan and Aunt Kiki will have. It will be to check in with Reagan and Boone and see if there is any romance in store for them. ( )

This visit to Savannah following the antics of Reagan, Aunt Kiki, Chantilly, and crew has even more adventure and excitement than usual. Walker Boone is being hunted for murder and Reagan is right in the thick of it. Demise in Denim is yet another successful episode in this charming series about a consignment shop, a historic city, and a cast of heart-warming characters. I highly recommend this book, and series, for a splendid way to enjoy some peace and hilarity. ( )
