Resting Place is a poignant, painfully honest story about a woman who finds new life by facing her inevitable mortality through journaling. Little weaves her food addiction, bipolar disorder, alcoholism and what she calls “ post-divorce destruction disorder” into a narrative that has her visiting her own gravesite and reflecting upon her life from the perspective of death. Death is a difficult topic to write about but Little’s sense of humor and raw honesty make for a very engaging read.
I was riveted by her thought-provoking and powerful writing as she led me, unsparingly, through the heart of her pain into a resting place within herself. It flowed freely in journal-fashion which made me feel connected and acutely aware of the author’s experience. Because I could feel her pain, I was able to celebrate her recovery.
I highly recommend Resting Place as a provocative and unique memoir that will transport you into the mind of a troubled person and deliver you to her transformational recovery ( )
