I liked this book. The plot was organized, it followed the steps of a process and recipe. I also liked the plot twist. It allowed for tension and the reader to feel different typed of emotion throughout the book. It also used very basic language that any reader could’ve understood ( )

I found this book to be very cute and I think that young readers will enjoy the story. I like that the main character is a boy baking rather than the stereotypical girl baking. The illustrations were cute and not over the top so they did not take away from the story. The story had a cute surprise at the end “ Benny stops, wipes his eyes, and opens up the door…” I big idea of this story is celebrating a birthday with people you love. ( )
