It tells the story of Katie, a young girl that aspires to be a detective, and discovers a wandering kitten. I would have this in my classroom as a good transition between picture and chapter books. This book makes a great introduction to chapter books and those ready to transition form picture books to more complex reading. This is the story of a young girl who loves to solve mysteries and solves the mystery of where the cat in the park came from. This is a great book for young readers who are people of color and want a book that visually represents them. This is appropriate for second graders or advanced first graders, This would not make a good read aloud as it is more of a fun independent reading book. This easy reader was super cute and I think that it would be great for primary-aged readers between first and second grade. This book is part of a series about a little girl who solves mysteries and in this addition, she helps a lost cat named Sherlock find his way back home. Once she solves the mystery and brings him back to his home she adds Sherlock to her detective team. This book would be great for introducing chapter books to younger readers as it is divided into sections and the language that is used in this story would align really well with the language development of first or second-grade readers. This book follows the creative and spunky katie as she finds another mystery to solve! She is told about a lost cat in the park and by talking to the cat and a bird who saw where the cat lost its collar she is able to help the cat find its way home! Then it ends with her adding the cat to her team to solve more mysteries. I would use this book to transition to chapter books and teach problem solving to younger students. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
