Wetland is an in-depth survey of all wetland types. It is organized from simple to complex beginning with an introduction to aquatic biomes and delving in wetland biomes along with specific types and locations. Most of the wetlands referenced in the book are North American wetlands although she does cite wetlands of other continents in the primary text and side bars. The pictures and diagrams add to the text and are not overwhelming or out of place. I also found it intriguing that she included an experiment testing the absorption properties of sphagnum moss. The book also contains a glossary and a listing of contact information for multiple wetland conservation organizations. This is my second read by Sayre and I enjoyed it just as much as the first.

I also wanted to mention that pages 65 - 78 appear in the book twice. So, there are two copies of the last page, glossary, resources, index, and photo credits. Maybe it's a security measure. ( )
