Unfortunately I have bronchitis so my reviews will be typed and not on my YouTube page until I can stop coughing.

This book was great! The premise is there are two sides... the vigil and the necromancers. The vigil (who are dead), help keep the world safe from the necromancers. The necromancers (some are alive and some are dead), are trying to bring a very evil being into the world. The graphics are amazing and the story was cool! Loved all the characters. ( )

Wow, this was good. And I am incredibly disappointed that a second volume won't be forthcoming. (Though, at the risk of Hugin's wrath: never say nevermore, I suppose?) ( )

I've been scavaging through my comic book store of choice for my next favorite comic book series. Found it.

This is Runaways meets Full Metal Alchemist meets The Darkness meets H.P. Lovecraft meets Bleach.
Or you could just say this is something of its own. No, but really. Great monster design, love the artists style and characters, but MOSTLY it's a really great job at creating a big believable universe. None of the fantastic words are kitsch or cheese, it's finally a world I can get immersed in again. As a reader I care about the characters and what happens to them next, which is one of my biggest criteria on whether a series can keep my attention or not. Great stuff! ( )

5 stars, and among the best graphic novels I've read this year.

Writing is outstanding, the characters are exceptionally developed, and I love the amount of snarkiness and puns throughout this first volume. The artwork is fantastic, too. This is one of those comics that would make a great anime/cartoon.

I do have one question, though: when is the next volume coming out? ( )

Supernatural thriller comic collection
The Death Vigil is a group of dead heroes fighting against the evil underworld and the necromancers trying to bring the Primordial Ones into our world.
Clara joins this group and the stories show her development as it explains the fight between good and evil. There is quite a lot of character development, betrayal and violence. This is only Volume 1 and there is enough intrigue to keep going into the next volume.
Well-illustrated and written, this is an enjoyable and engaging read, well worth a try.
