Figure Fantasy is a collection of Picard's photography featuring figures from series with action (Star Wars, Comic books, GI Joe, etc) performing everyday actions. The contrast does create some images that are rather amusing. There are a few blurbs in the book about how Picard things of the ideas for his photographs but these are very short, with a greater amount of the books text being the afterword written by Kevin Smith. A simple concept, decent photography that would make a suitable coffee-table-book for the more pop-culture inclined individual. ( ) Figure Fantasy: The Pop Culture Photography of Daniel Picard collects some of Picard's work photographing Sideshow Collectables' sixth-scale action figures in lifelike situations as if they were real people. The detail of the figures allows Picard to effortlessly insert them into natural backgrounds, even pairing them with characters from other franchises in the types of mashups that we all imagined when we were kids playing with our own toys. This collection is bound to delight and encourages collectors of all ages to continue imagining the types of stories they'd like to see when engaging with fandom. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
