Cooper is a millionaire playboy and Maggie is his college roommate's little sister. Maggie just escaped from finding her fiance boning her maid of honor on her wedding day. So the two fall in love. Cooper and Maggie are likable enough, though Maggie definitely needed to grow up. The story was predictable, but not nearly as good as the first book in the series. I'm really waiting for Tricky and Rose's story in the next book. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

Everyone knows you should never say never. Cooper Moore never saw Maggie Williams coming. She was just his best friend's little sister, the curly-haired, freckle-faced girl from Mississippi who was absolutely off limits. And he never thought about her any other way - not until he saw her that night, broken and brave. From that moment on, he knew he'd do whatever it took to protect her, even if it meant he had to stay away. Maggie never expected to find her fiancé banging her maid of honor an hour before she was set to walk down the aisle, but life's funny that way. The only option to save her sanity is to get the hell out of Jackson and move to New York where her brother lives. The only downside: Cooper is there too. And she just doesn't know if she can stay away from him - the filthy rich, dead sexy playboy who's allergic to commitment. The second Maggie sees him again, she realizes he'll be impossible to resist. Luckily, commitment is the last thing on her mind, and Cooper is the perfect escape. As long as she can keep her heart in check, everything will be just fine. Because she can never have feelings for him. Or at least that's what she'll keep telling herself. Chaser is a standalone romantic comedy and book 2 of the Bad Habits series. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

I absolutely love this series. I adored Lily & West's story, and felt the same way about Maggie & Cooper.
I love the whole premise of this story. How likely is that you can have a sexual relationship with someone without it having some kind of emotions involved. When we first meet Cooper in With a Twist, we pretty much write him off as a pretty boy manwhore. But he is so much more, and I think this book captures that softer side to him. He's never been one to think about others, and that's all he does in this book. I loved everything about him. I had my ups and downs with Maggie. She thinks setting rules to her arrangement with Cooper will keep her in check. But we all know how hard that is likely to be.
I think both characters grew a lot throughout Chaser. Maggie learns about herself, and how to get past some things while trying to keep from being scared. I don't necessarily like how she dealt with some things. But it helped her come to a point where she knew herself. And I could go on about Cooper for days. He's just an overall gentleman, and doesn't do more than what is asked even if he wants to.
There are quite a few funny moments between these two. Their banter and humor with each other was adorable, and had me grinning most of the time.
If you liked With a Twist, you should definitely check out this sequel. I can't wait for the 3rd book, and I know it's going to be forever! Huge fan of Staci Hart. She never disappoints.
