I've read the whole series and all the spin-offs, so seeing this comic based off the video game after reading 150, I was a little thrown off. Wasn't Fables over? I was happy it was over too. However, I really liked this game. I thought it had a great story and they added interesting characters that aen't in the comic books. Reading this book is similar to playing the game, but it's like if the writers played the game. Since the game is set up were you mostly control the story, it's easy to make different outcomes. The writers of this book also added backstories and events to the characters that aren't in the video game. For instance, this goes all into the Salem Witch Trials which was never mentioned in the game and only briefly talked about in the original comics. I'm excited to read the next volume because it has my favorite character from the game, and maybe my favorite Fables villain, Bloody Mary. Waiting to see how they play with her character. Only thing I didn't like about this is the art kept changing. I know it was made as a web-comic with three chapters for one issues type of thing. It's a little confusing, but it works out well. Some of the art I don't like, but nice to see some familiar Fables artist too. For a graphic novel based on a video game I was a bit surprised that it wasn't completely obvious from the storyline, but clearly the writers of the video game did a decent job writing the narrative of the game for it to work so seamlessly in graphic novel format as well. Thus far I'm not sure where the story is going, as the murder mystery has too many suspects to pin down exactly who is running about Fabletown murdering Snow White look-a-likes, but my money is on Ichabod Crane. He's a creep of the worst sort, and he seems to have far too many machinations going on to be completely innocent! I've played TellTale games, but haven't played this one. Haven't read the other Fable comics. I enjoy fairytale remixes, and this was decent. I wish more characters were less human, and liked Bigby best when he was his most wolfen. The story has some non-linear elements that I like, the art is clean but not particularly stylistic/inspired. Dark and sinister. Two perfect words to describe this Fables spinoff. This is taken place before Bigby and Snow get together. I enjoyed it throughout. A good storytelling in the past and in the present. Plus new characters such as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum!! I was thrown off a few times but in the end it didn't surprise me. Looking forward to seeing how the next one stacks up. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

Based on the best-selling video game Fables: The Wolf Among Us! Bigby Wolf used to break every law in the books. Now, as the sheriff of Fabletown-New York City's magically concealed neighborhood of mythical, legendary and fairy tale figures-he is the law, and keeping the streets safe for Fables and Mundanes alike is his beat. So when a beautiful princess-turned-prostitute is decapitated on his watch, Bigby must unleash the wolf within to catch the killer. There's certainly no shortage of suspects. Was it Mister Toad, whose wild ride has brought him to the end of the road? Was it the Woodsman, who's been a pain in the axe ever since little Red put on a hood and rode through the woods? Was it Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dum, the towering twin goons-for-hire? Or maybe Grendel, the man-monster who's been causing trouble since before Beowulf could grow a beard? With the help of Snow White, his only friend, and Mayor Ichabod Crane, his longtime enemy, Bigby must crack the case soon. He may be the law, but some people can't wait to break him... Bouncing back in time to pre-requited Snow and Bigby reminded me of how much I liked the original series when I started it. I’m on board for more Bigby-centric tales. ( )
