This is my second book by Maya Banks, yes I mean second book by her ever and I loved it. I was so mad at Maya for the Cliff hanger that was Mastered that I needed this to be great. It really was a great continuation to the story.
HOLY CRAP; HANG ON FOR THE RIDE OF YOUR LIFE!

Drake Donovan, the man who everyone in the big city fears has gone crazy over a woman. A woman that has broken the barriers he never ever thought anyone could. He has to redeem himself from the harm he caused her, Evangeline is gone all because of his actions and he is on a mission to find his Angel.

This guy messed up big time and all of his men know it. The all want to find Evangeline and bring her home, but none more than Drake. He has to make her believe that she is the one! He eventually catches a break and locates her, he has to convince her that he is truly sorry and wants to lay the world at her feet.

Eventually, she gives in and they begin their lives as if nothing had ever happened and they are a very happy couple, a family. Joy radiates from both of them and everyone around them is enveloped in their joy. Evangeline gains confidence and strength, and shines. But, of course all good things come to an end... Drake Donovan, will loose it all on what would have been the most happiest days of his life.

Captivating story between Drake and Evangeline, loved that we got to see them so happy and Drake break out of his shell. now on to Kept Silas Finally! Yay! ( )

There was a lot to like about this book and unfortunately to dislike. Drake starts off trying to make amends for the terrible things he said to Evangeline. She is too good, forgiving him. When Drake is good he's so very good, loving her and dominating her but when things get remotely uncertain Drake turns on her again. Great story telling but I just couldn't forgive Drake again.

Sadly this was a DNF for me. I read the first Enforcer's book pretty quickly but was put off after the cliff hanger between the books. Then...after all that at the end of book one we get chapters of the same thing over and over in D's attempt to win E back. Then without much resistance at all she goes. Things resume as they did in book one except now after the way book one ended I'm no longer emotionally invested. I was more interested in the parts with Silas than anything else.

I'll read the next one only because Silas. ( )
