Lovely short story. And finally a couple who didn't fall in love in 2 days. Just kinda short, although I get that that's the point. Loved it :) ( )

A Good Short Story That I Couldn't Put Down.

I'm already a fan of Ms Painter's writing style having read and loved the first book in this series - The Vampire's Mail Order Bride.

I must admit that although I did enjoy this book, there were a few aspects that niggled. I think that the reduced page numbers meant that situations, characters and backstories were left less developed compared to Ms Painter's full length novels.

Having said that, I really did enjoy the ups and downs of this little tale; it made me chuckle, got me all soppy at the romantic gestures and I felt the odd tear trickle down my cheek during the emotional scenes. ( )

Just adorable.

I am going to use this word a lot but I absolutely adore Stanhill and this was a great little story for him and Corette. As a huge fan of the Nocturne Falls series, Stanhill is my “special unicorn” that must be protected at all costs so this little novella hit me right in the gut. I really like Corette but woiuldn like to get to know her character better. Due to the situation in this book, I didn’t get a real good sense of her character. The author did a job though of showing the chemistry and connection Stanhill and Corette have though.

BJ Harrison helped add to the emotional impact by narrating Stanhill so well you could almost see and feel the emotions Stanhill was going through. ( )

Lovely short episode in the expanding fantasy world of Nocturne Falls. Just the right length for a quick read!
B J Harrison continues to do a fantastic job as narrator. ( )
