This Damned Band follows the misadventures of a band called Motherfather during the 70's. This band is a hodge-podge of Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Rolling Stones like it happens in the movie Almost Famous, but the comic book steers for occult theme, sewing some stories/ legends of these bands culminating in a major concert that ressembles the Altamont tragedy. The story is like Kieron Gillen's Phonogram, but for 70's Rock.
Paul Cornell is a good writer, but he stretches the story too much to fill 6 issues, causing a problem in its pace. The high point is Tony Parker's art, which has a good storytelling and sometimes it emulates Michael Golden and other good influences. ( )
