Summary
Evangeline Tegre, left the swamps for a better life for herself, and saves and scrimped her money to open up her own bakery in San Antonio. She keeps her shifter side quiet and she refuses to be part of that brutal world she grew up in. But then her world turns upside down when a stranger that is full of ice walks into her shop. Plot and Story Line
Leopard's Fury is the most recent release in the Leopard People that Feehan has created. I will be honest the previous two books I wasn't too impressed with and lost some faith in Feehan's ability to write this series like the others books. However, from the first chapter, this story felt completely different and more like the earlier books in this series. I adored seeing these two grow and learn together. Both characters were simply wonderful, and what I liked most was that their story wasn't rushed. We see their chemistry slowly build up for a year but things really pick up when we get some old characters come into the story, including Evangeline's cousin Joshua. Now for those of you who have read Savage Nature you will really enjoy seeing how Leopard's Fury connects to that story. Evangeline has gone through quite a bit in her young life. She had to rely on her leopard when she was just a baby. She was abandoned in the swamp and had to hide from her family, who were abusive and controlling and raped the women in the family. Only Joshua managed to escape from becoming like the other men in her family. But when she meets Alonzo, her leopard is what keeps Evangeline from making to many mistakes with Alonzo. Even though Alonzo has lived a brutal life, and he is a bit of a alpha male, but I love how he treats Evangeline. He is patient and understanding with her. It was also fun to see most of the other couples in the series take part in this book and see their acceptance of Alonzo and Evangeline. This story does prove to be very exciting at times, full of suspense and danger and an intensity of emotion to blow your socks off!!
The Cover
Not my favorite of covers to be honest....It doesn't seem to fit with the other themes of the covers of the series. But I do love the the sunset behind the prarie like fields.

Leopard's Fury is a romance that will send thrills to you from head to toe....a story that is packed with excitement, danger, intrigue and seeing two people find peace and healing in each other after a life of evil and hardship ( )

Pretty typical Feehan. Better than some but for me it lost steam after the hero and heroine got together in the middle. Their conflict was resolved too early which made the second half of the book much less interesting. ( )

They both grew up in brutal lairs, they both escaped them and they are both hiding from them. He and his leopard were trained to be brutal killers, caring for no one, She was mostly abandoned and left to hide from her grandfather's leopard. I was looking forward to Alonzo's story and for the most part I liked the story. There was a bit of repetition, that got old but otherwise it was engaging.

Wow! It wasn't all 'down on your knees and suck my cock woman!" I think it was 3/4 of the book before they actually got around to sex. I must say that the ending felt very rushed. Have a major thing happening. Then cut and the next chapter is weeks ahead and there's a wedding. ( )

This contemporary PNR takes place in San Antonio, Texas. It is suitable for adult audiences.

Christine Feehan does a great job with her character development. They are complex and interesting. Evangeline had a horrible childhood, on her own trying to stay alive. She works hard to establish her bakery and build a better life for herself. She has a big heart and a wonderful personality that wins people over. She is a strong heroine who is very likeable. Alonzo had a horrible childhood as well, being raised in a ruthless lair as a killer. He is a good leader and powerful man. He takes care of what is his. Evangeline and Alonzo both have secrets. The two complement each other well and have great chemistry. I like that they both grow throughout the story.

The plot was well executed and exciting. The characters have a lot of obstacles to overcome. I enjoyed the criminal aspect to the novel. I like Alonzo’s allies. They have similar values and interests. I appreciated how the characters from the previous books from the series were integrated into this story. I also like how the leopards can sense a lie. LEOPARD'S FURY is an exciting and worthwhile read. It had interesting twists and felt believable. This is a great book for people that enjoy paranormal romances with mafia incidents. The story is full of conspiracy, danger, and romance. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. ( )
