His characters are solid and multi-dimensional. The protagonist Isaiah Quintabe is an unlikely "Detective for the Hood." He trades investigative services using a barter system. Most of his 'clients' could not afford to hire an investigator. IQ seems fearless, matching intelligence against violence. He is a stickler for justice. Isaiah Quintabe grows a reputation as a problem solver, and fits into his moniker. The untimely and tragic death of his brother, causes IQ to change his life goals. His priority becomes survival and keeping the apartment he and his beloved brother shared. I ate savoring the unique and alluring flavors of each bite.
