This was an odd little book, not even 100 pages. It was a scary story about a boy named Pete who reluctantly visits his grandparents and stumbles into a nearby graveyard at night. His visit unearths, literally, Benny "Bones" Barton who challenges him to a scavenger hunt. Pete doesn't want to participate, but Benny tells him that if he doesn't, every dead person in the world will come back to life as skeletons and basically take over the world.

Definitely a horror story, this is the first book in a series of books about Pete and his grandparents. I didn't really like the book because horror isn't one of my favorite genres, but for a reluctant reader looking for a good scary story, this just might fit the bill. ( )
