I remember really wanting these books in the 90s, I think there might have been an ad on television for them (Time Life used to love advertising books and special offers). Anyway, the family ordered them, then for some reason (probably distraction) I never read them.

So, I finally picked up Weather & Climate with the intent to read the whole thing. It took a little while, reading a small section then putting it down for weeks at a time, but I finally finished.

This is an excellent reference book. A good read for anyone interested in the highlights of how weather works and is monitored. Topics covered include varying cloud shapes, how rain, snow, hail, fog, etc. are formed, and even how hurricanes and tornadoes happen. Definitely something worth having if, like me, you live in an area with a wide variety of weather occurrences throughout the year.

Also, this book discusses the double rainbow phenomenon almost twenty years before Yosemite Bear would freak out over seeing one on video. ( )
