In book five of the Order of the Dragon Knights, Adam MacFhearguis returns home to Scotland after experiencing the horrors of the Crusades. He’s broken, scarred, and still devastated over the loss of Meggie, his beloved. He wants nothing more than to move on and find some semblance of peace in his life, so he goes to the sacred standing stones where Meggie died to say goodbye. The Fae, however, answers his prayers and sends him to his heart’s desire.
Margaret “Meggie” MacKay has no memory of her former life in 13th century Scotland. She resides with her MacKay cousins in the present day, and she loves her son, Jamie, fiercely. Then a strange, handsome man happens upon her home, claiming to know her and promising to help her regain her memories. But can she trust him?
OMG! This book is my favorite in the series. Adam and Meggie have been through a terrible time without each other, especially Adam. He’s never stopped loving her, and she fell in love with him all over again. They are truly soul mates and destined for each other.
I teared up when Meggie finally remembers the past and who she is, and her and Adam’s true reunion with her memories intact was very passionate. I cried a bit again when she and Adam were reunited with her brothers and with his. This big family reunion is what I’ve been waiting for, and it didn’t disappoint.
I’m so relieved the series-wide villain, Lachlan, finally got what he deserved. He was a nasty piece of work.
My favorite thing about this story is that the hero travels from the past to the present to find the one he loves. In all the other books, the heroines did the traveling, so this change was refreshing. Adam’s fear of Meggie’s jeep (which he called the beast) and airplanes (silver dragons) were hilarious, and I loved his excitement over running water in the bathroom. I just bet someone from centuries past would kill for a modern convenience like that.
Grab some tissues before you read Dragon Knight’s Ring. It pulls on your heartstrings and is the perfect conclusion to this entertaining paranormal romance series.

Through the ages of time, love can make a way to be found again and again. But with the time that passes there will always be pain, sorrow, joy, passion, danger. Something broke the bounds to keep them apart. Having them come together again will not be welcomed.

This was my first read of Mary Morgan and I was enchanted with the world of knights, dragons, myths, magic, time-travel, love of soulmates, a druid or two, a few faes here or there, and of course a bad guy. I got a very splendidly detailed time-travel romance that would entice the soul to make that ultimate sacrifice to find that one true love that was meant to be.

Even on the second encounter there was power in that meeting. The explosion within the soul was not one to be denied the truth. There were a whole host of characters to become vested in. The reality of the world they were apart of and protecting was riveting. Scotland has been one of my top romance triggers of all time. Add to that the highlands makes it that much more for me. Then Mary Morgan boost it all with time-travel, knights, druids, and more. The second chance at that one love that was everything and anything to your world.

Be prepared for an emotional ride that will allow for you to cry, laugh, be sad, happy, confused, elated, and passion filled. I will get a chance to explore more of Mary Morgan’s works, beginning with more of the Order of the Dragon Knight series. ( )

Adam MacFhearguis is a man torn. Torn in so many ways. Founded in the magic of the highlands and the old ways, he finds a new religion, the one of the cross, the one God of love and forgiveness. He needs a God who could forgive him for letting Meggie, his true love die. But the problem also lies in Adam for not forgiving himself. He is in despair, has been these three years. His soul reaches out to Meggie, even in death he seeks her.. Returning home from the Crusades, he goes to the standing stones and remembers all of that awful day and wishes for the impossible.

Excerpt:
He knew it was a foolish request, since he no longer believed in them, but in his heart, Meggie did, so he said the words for her. “Can ye not bring her back, Fae? If only to see her face one more time, he uttered softly.

Bringing the ring to his lips, Adam placed a kiss on the red stone before tucking it away in this pouch, belted at his waist.

As the tortured knight knelt at the foot of the standing stones, Adam’s quiet, broken prayer whispered across the Highlands to another realm. And in that moment, when she heard his sorrowful plea, the Guardian granted him his request.

*****
Throughout the series we have known Meggie is dead. Her brothers, there are four (Angus, Duncan, Stephen and Alastair), all have grieved her passing and all went through great trials to be redeemed by the Fae. They have learned to love. Here too, the last Dragon Knight, Adam, is on his quest. He must follow Meggie into the future, to help her recover her memories of her past, for she has none. The Fae transported her into the future to save her life, favored by the Fae as her brothers were. But now there are greater issues, realms of beings are at stake. Will Adam make her remember in time? Meggie holds important information provided her by the Fae. She must remember.

Lachlan, the evil one, plots with The Dark One to take over the world. Fenian Warriors, we’ve met in other stories of the series, have decided to join forces with the Dragon Knight’s, to destroy Lachlan and his plot. They are willing to forfeit their lives to save both the realm of the Fae and humans. Will they be powerful enough?

This series has been wonderful to read. I have lived the land of the Dragon Knights, known their courage, pain, and eventual victory. I knew this was the last of the series, so I felt much like I had to say good-bye to very good friends. Instead of an author’s note at the end of the story, Adam MacFearguis leaves a note. It puts a smile on my face knowing this isn’t the last I’ve seen of this wonderful set of characters.

Ms. Morgan’s stories torture the heart, gouge the soul, then uplift the spirit soothing and healing what she’s destroyed. But you say, it’s make believe! It’s just a fantasy of the mind! Dear reader, I was there, all was seen, and I’m a believer.

I absolutely recommend this writer’s work. Her fascination with dragons, the realm of the Fae and her love of romance keeps me coming back for more, over and over.
