While Christopher Logue was certainly a brilliant writer, this effort was lacking in many many ways. Erotica needs to be well written...just like any other genre of literature. 'Nuff said. ( ) Written by Christopher Logue under the pseudonum Count Palmiro Vicarion. First edition, first impression not stated. "Frs. 18" printed on lower left rear wrapper. Ophelia Press 1959. From the colophon: Printed May 1959 by S.I.P., Montreuil, France. Tan cardboard wrapper. 14 gatherings, labelled LUST 1 to LUST 14. 224 pp. The condition is very good, aside from a diagnonal crease on the lower right wrapper and some wrinkling of the spine. This is an excellent speciment of an Olympia Press original, pre London, book publication. Doubtless Girodias was dodging the forces of obscenity, litigation, and royalty payments when he created the Ophelia imprint. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
Written by famed poet Christopher Logue (who probably needed money) and first published under the Ophelia imprint, Lust is a kind of "how to succeed in business without really trying." The tale follows its hero from a dreary office setting where a superior's wife discovers the pair share mutual interests, into the clutches of one Mr. Bulles, who sends him (and the girl Anna) on missions of espionage and intrigue. Later he encounters royalty, multiple partners, before finishing, as all great espionage novels must, in revolution. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
