Alla fine, tutte insieme, risultano eccessive e, in più, ho trovato alquanto improbabile ed esagerato il finale della vicenda di Kate. La storia vede protagonisti una madre alquanto apprensiva e i suoi quattro figli e le infelici, tragiche e sciagurate vicende che li vedono tutti coinvolti per la totale durata del libro per virare invece in pochi attimi, nonostante le tragedie incombenti, nel finale perfetto. Like most of DS's characters, they moved in circles too rich for most of us. In fact many of their difficulties wouldn't have happened if they didn't move there. Of course, the money also made it possible to survive the difficulties a lot more easily than we could. I think a good editor would have told her to split this up into several books. But as often happens with established authors, they know a book with her name on the cover is going to sell, so they don't bother. I always enjoy Danielle Steel's books even though they are sometimes predictable. This was no exception and somewhat predictable.
Kate and her family of four were fun to read about even though there were some tough subjects that were tackled. That's life in fiction and in real life and you have to go through them to get to the other side where everyone is happy.
The ending wasn't as predictable for Kate which was a nice change. (
