This rent boy finds love story has many aspects of Garrett's work without the heart-wrenching angst that often underscores their stories. A great sense of place. Characters that are undoubtedly British. Broken characters with hearts of gold under a lifetime of tarnish and dirt. ( ) What I enjoyed most about this book was that the majority of the POVs were from Zac's perspective. Where Liam seemed to me a bit sappy and unreal at times, Zac came out as the hero of this story. The hooker junkie overcoming his addiction, the young man whose gratitude for his best friend for saving his life from an OD almost had no boundaries and made him accept many things other people might not accept even their own family. The one who couldn't see his true worth and when Liam pushed him away due to a misunderstanding he let it happen without complaining. As a fan of troubled souls, I liked Zac the most. I had conflicting feelings towards Jamie and I hope I come to like him in the next book. Like all wretched blokes who had been delivered a bad hand from the Fates, he deserves a happy end. Mix that in with some hot sex scenes, two labradoodles and Liam's endearing father and sister and I can say I was very pleased with this book. I'm just retracting one star because of the instalove-ish vibe I got and because barely moments after I've finished the book I had forgotten Liam's name. Recommend, especially if you like the rent boys trope. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
