I think it could have been longer to convey more of Ruby's feelings. But I liked the overall message that just because people may not like something about you doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you. This book does a fine job of showcasing that children need lots of different opportunities and outlets to find avenues in which they can appreciate their unique selves. ( ) This book is about a girl named Ruby who loves to sing. In the beginning of the book, Ruby's classmates cover their ears when she sings, saying she's too loud. One day, coming home from school, a saxophonist and a jazz singer realize that she has the "Blues." Every day she practices with them, singing, until her voice floods the town with vibrant colors. I would read this book to a 2nd grade classroom (7-8 years old). I found this book at the Pierce College library in the ECE section. The story talks about a girl named Ruby, who had a problem with voice control. She was discouraged from singing because everyone told her she was too loud. The story keeps adding to your thinking and in the end Ruby became an excellent singer with some help. The story fits synthesizing because you gets you thinking about your thinking. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
