No other book so clearly outlines the positive of prayer the pre=requisites to prayer, the purpose of prayer or the power of prayer. Few books on prayer have had the staying power of this book by R.A. Torrey, Bible scholar and evangelist of the early 20th Century. As the first superintendant of the Moody Bible Institure, he was influential in preparing many lives for future ministry including my grandfather who became an early missionary to Korea. This book is curiously dated and timeless. It is timeless in its application of scriptural truths, while dated or seemingly so in its examples. He speaks to a time when Christian men and women were in agreement on the dangers of dancing, cards and the theater and felt that those who practiced such would not have answered prayer. Torrey gives a very convincing argument for the efficacy of prayer, explaining also how to pray, who can pray, why pray, what interferes with prayer, how to overcome hindrances to prayer and what prayer can do for a person or a nation. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
