I held on to every word. It felt as if someone was telling me a 4 hour long scandalously juicy tale. The readers voice was not what I would preferred to hear for this type of story, but that didn't matter because it was the story that captivated me not the readers voice. This book was not what I expected at all! I was both surprised and shocked at the unfolding of this vivid tale. Well done, Miasha.... ( ) Carlos and Monica seem to have the perfect marriage until Monica receives a diary in the mail from Monica's mistress. All three lives are drastically affected until some major truths lead up to a disturbing ending. This was a quick read and definitely a page turner. I thought the ending was good, especially the teeny cliffhanger. What a total letdown!! Have you ever read a book and enjoyed reading it until you arrived at the end of the book? The ending of this book is AWFUL!! I felt like I had wasted my time reading the entire book. I read "Mommy's Angel" by Miasha and loved it so I was eager to read her other books only to be totally disappointed by this book. This book revolves around a married couple, Carlos and Monica, who have the "perfect" marriage with 5 year old twin sons. After an exotic, romantic anniversary trip to Florida, Monica returns home and received a package in the mail. The package contains a diary from Carlos' mistress listing details of their time together. Monica becomes so upset she lashes out at her best friend and almost kills her husband with Monica landing in jail. I am not sure what the author was thinking when she wrote the ending for this book. Perhaps, she was under a tight deadline and didn't have time to think of a realistic or reasonable ending. I currently have "Never Enough" by Miasha but I am hesitant to start reading it. I have read the ending to make sure it is not one of those unreasonable endings. But I think I might try reading a book by another author and come back to Miasha later. I can't handle two disappointments in a row. :-) This book was quite good. Despite her Celess series Miasha is started to grow on me.This was a very quick read. I would have liked if it had more "meat". It was just too quick. I do however feel a sequel coming on perhaps..hopefully. From start to finish this book had me sucked in. Unfortunately I'd figured out what was going on early in the book so it kind of spoiled it for me. Overall it was a good read. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
What should a wife believe? The words of her husband or the diary of his mistress? From the author of Secret Society comes a tale of love and jealousy in which two women struggle to separate fact from fiction. Monica counts her blessings -- she has a husband who is not only devoted to her but is also committed to being a strong, caring father to their twin sons. When Carlos surprises her with an unforgettably romantic getaway, Monica knows her husband is still very much in love with her -- and she with him. But an unexpected package threatens to change everything Monica's ever believed about her husband. Angela has adopted a sex-them-and-leave-them attitude toward the married men she's bedded over the last five years. Then she met Monica's Carlos. Now she will stop at nothing to get him for herself -- even if that means destroying her own life and another woman's family. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
