A quartet of quirky short stories with a twist, these four offbeat tales follow characters on a wild ride of Twilight Zone-esque adventures. A familiar fairy tale heroine finds herself in an unfamiliar situation. Blood-collecting charity workers fall under suspicion of being something far more sinister. This is a collection of short stories most of which are not related to fairy tales. The first story is about Snow White and it is definitely a grown up version of this classic fairy tale. It would not be appropriate for kids to read for sure! The story of Snow White starts off fairly similar to the original telling except with perverted dwarves who can't keep their wandering hands to themselves. But you will quickly learn Snow White is not as innocent as she seems. The other stories are original as far as I know. They have some interesting twists. I liked the road rage story the most because I found the ending to be interesting. ( )

I received a free copy of this book from the Member Giveaway section of LibraryThing.

I was just very unimpressed with this. I feel like it falls into a trap that a lot of short story authors get stuck in AKA they think if a story is short it has to have some "clever" twist at the end. However I put the word clever in quotations because really it's the same predictable "twists" every time. The writing was rushed, the characters were two-dimensional, and the plots were unoriginal. The last story could have been good if it was expanded on a bit but other than that I was unimpressed. Also I kind of thought before I read it that ALL the stories were going to be fairy tale retellings so that definitely threw me off, but I guess that could have been my mistake. There is one fairy tale retelling, one crime story, one kind of sci-fi / technology something, and then what I guess you would call urban fantasy. ( )

Twist after twist

I was given a free copy of the ebook. I was not solicited to write a review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.
Each short story has you guessing until the last sentence. Some seem like they have obvious ending, but surprise! Those are where the double plot twist happen. Such a lovely fast read that is engaging and mystery provoking. ( )

A very short book of short stories, some fantasy, some just odd. I enjoyed the last two stories in the book, the others were less impressive, didn't surprise me that much, and unfortunately fell a bit flat. However, they were mostly cute, and kept short enough that it didn't feel like a waste of time. Only the first one really fits the old fairytale theme the cover suggests, so if you're hoping for twists or parodies of fairytales, beware it's only the one, there's also some vulgarity. -I was given a free copy in exchange for my honest review. This book keeps you on your toes the whole time! With twist after twist it is a fast read (because you won't want to put it down). One qualm I had was having what seemed to be the "main" story first in the book. The title is great and witty and eye catching, however it doesn't say much about the rest of the book. ( )
