This book might be suited best for anyone from infancy to Pre-Kindergarten. The book lists an animal and then what sound it makes. One page for example says “Lambs say ‘Baa’”. The illustrations in the book show realistic portraits of the various animals with the text accompanying on the top or bottom of the page. I think the illustrations are good, especially for this age level, in showing what each animal looks like so children can connect what an animal looks like to the sound that it makes. I also really enjoyed that this book doesn’t just list off the animals and their sounds. The whole book is connected by a rhythm that makes it fun to read aloud. In a preschool classroom, this book could be used in repetition. For example the teacher could read through it first to the students and then go through it again but ask the students to “fill in the blank” on which sound that animal makes. ( ) Summary: This book goes through many different animals and the sounds they make. They depict the animals in their own natural environments and provide life like photos of the animals also. Personal Reaction: I really enjoyed this book and the realistic depictions of the animals. I especially liked how the book ends with a human saying "I love you" to her son. This book lets the child explore animals and the habitats that they thrive in. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1. This would be a great book to read before taking a trip to the farm or forest. We could see if the children can state what the certain animal says and what they do as an extension to this book. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
