Three estranged sisters struggle to sustain their late father's failing hockey franchise in Kate Meader's sizzling Chicago Rebels series. In this second entry, middle sister Isobel is at a crossroads in her personal and professional lives. But both are about to get a significant boost with the addition of a domineering Russian powerhouse to the Rebels . . . Isobel Chase knows hockey. She played NCAA, won silver at the Games, and made it thirty-seven minutes into the new National Women's Hockey League before an injury sidelined her dreams. Those who can't, coach, and a position as a skating consultant to her late father's hockey franchise, the Chicago Rebels, seems like a perfect fit. Until she's assigned her first job: the man who skated into her heart as a teen and relieved her of her pesky virginity. These days, left-winger Vadim Petrov is known as the Czar of Pleasure, a magnet for puck bunnies and the tabloids alike. But back then . . . let's just say his inability to sink the puck left Isobel frustratingly scoreless. Contains mature themes.… (mais)

He held her face with both hands, all drama because everything he did had to be drenched in it. "I have waited my entire life to love you and I refuse to let your stubbornness take you away from me."

This was good. Loved seeing how the Rebels team is shaping up and all the hijinks the Chase sisters are getting into.

I love Vadim and his flair for the dramatics. ( )

This series is playing out to be one of my all-time favorites. Both Isobel and Vadim are so stubborn, but I can understand them both. I love how over-the-top Vadim can be when speaking English, and it definitely lightened up some more serious scenes. ( )

Love when book titles are something like this so I can say

“So over it.”

As my review. Reasons...I was bored. Life is too short. Cut and paste generic Barbie/bunny/boobs and attractive women not being smart comments from sooooo many others in the genre. I find this dumb bimbo thing so annoying bc I think you must have to be smart to watch hockey. residing in a hockey state my whole life I still don’t fucking get it. I don’t go to the Wild games to ogle hot hockey players and I can promise you I’d never know if there are any. I don’t hockey. I know there are hot baseball, football, and basketball players...what was my point? Leave hockey fans alone..? Why is the language so horrible in hockey romance?

So Over You is a beast. It continues the legacy of epic love and hard hitting characters that Kate Meader is known for. Isobel is a woman a chip on her shoulder, a lot to prove and the spirit to back it up. A fighter of the highest order, I love that she continues to be the fighter she was meant to be despite, life's hard knocks. The girl with a dream is intent on making the goal in a male dominated sport. Nothing can stop this champion from striking gold. Not even an egotistical, tempting and frustrating blast from her past. When the chips are down, this is a fight to the finish that could result in the ultimate score for both teams. It's characters like Isobel that gives women the strength to follow their heart and that is a legacy to be proud of. ( )

I love this series!

Isobel and Vadim's story drew me in from the very first page--and not just because a significant life event for both of them took place in my hometown. (Yes, Buffalo is a hockey town! Fictional characters saying it is all the validation I need--thanks, Kate Meader :)) Their past history was a great hook (Vadim trying to figure out what Isobel meant when she told Violet that their first encounter wasn't exactly--ahem, satisfying--was LOL funny) but it was their current drama that kept me turning the pages like a crazy person.

Would Isobel really risk her life to play hockey once again? Could Vadim's newly-discovered little sister bring him and his mother back together? Will coaching ever be enough for Isobel, and is coaching in the NHL even a possibility? Is Vad's knee good enough to get the team to the playoffs? Will the team stay in the Chase sisters' hands? Is Isobel or Vadim to blame for what happened the first time around, or were they just not meant to be? Can they start over again now? Should they?
And most importantly--is Little Vadim really his :most improved area" since they were last together? These questions and more needed to be answered!

Fortunately, they do get answered...eventually...and the ending of this book not only has me all but salivating for the next two, it also nearly had me clapping with glee. (Hard to do with just one hand while the other holds the ereader, though...)

Rating: 4 1/2 stars / A
