A wonderful set of short stories characterizing life in the Tennessee in the first half od the 20th century. He paints a lot of families and family situations where the mother or female plays an important part.
He deals with the relations between blacks and whites honestly, depicting neither one as malicious, but just acting normally the way they were at that time, ( )
