Her mother encourages her love for art and science and she goes on to earn three degrees and invent a more friendly and humane approach to farming animals. This book is great for all young kids who have dreams, especially those with autism or other disabilities. This book is about Temple Grandin, who revolutionized human treatment for cows on farms. Grandin was born with autism and couldn't speak until the age of three, she faced immense ridicule for the way she thought and her mother sent her to spend time on her aunt's ranch. There she found her love for science and farm animals, and went one to become a great scientist and a brilliant mind in the agricultural realm. This book is helpful because it is based off of a real person and describes her life and achievements in ways that are understandable.
