It also tells the story of treating others like you want to be treated. It is a fun story that illustrates in an exciting way, these morals that we wish to instill within our students. Ananse's Feast: an Ashanti tale is about greed, a common theme in West African folklore. Ananse prepares a feast but doesn't want to share it as food has been scarce. His friend Akye (turtle) drops by and Ananse feels obligated to invite him to eat. He plays a trick on his friend sending him outside to wash (three times), all the while Ananse finishes the feast without him. In turn, when Akye has food to spare, he plays a similar trick on Ananse and denies him food as well. The author, an Arusha Maasai, grew up in Tanzania. He is an acclaimed storyteller of African folktales. His stories remain true to the culture of his people. The illustrations are done in bright colors and add details to the story itself. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
