( ) This book follows the lifetime of a Mexican Chemist and his discovery of a hole in the ozone layer of the earth due to humans' unnecessary use of chemicals. Mario saved the world by warning people about this hazard. This book communicates a message about nations around the world coming together to protect the earth and allowing the ozone layer to regrow. This book covers the story of Mario Molina who has helped solve our ozone crisis. This book brings you Mario's childhood stories while incorporating some science terms like the different ozone layers and talking about different tools like microscopes. (would be great for introducing a science lesson). This stunning picture book biography tells the life story of Mexican-American chemist and important figure to help stop climate change, Mario Molina. Beautifully, attention-grabbing illustrations show Molina's early life and important discoveries that showed harmful chemicals were consuming the ozone. Children will not only be introduced to Mario Molina, but they will be able to read about his research and intriguing facts about what the ozone layer is and the harmful chemical, CFC, that is present in many of our everyday products. This captivating story can be used to lead informative and critical discussions over climate change in a science classroom. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
