As usual, Joel Rosenberg, has written a fast-paced, breathtaking, super exciting novel. My wish is that one day, a director will take one of his series and make them into movies. As long as they stick with the story, it will be a blockbuster! This novel is the first in a five book series. Mr. Rosenberg has a way with telling a story that really draws you in…you feel like you are right there, feeling every bit of tension, action, and thrill. At one point I was so overwhelmed, I had to just close it and take a breather. Wow! I love books like this. I had never heard of this author before so I had no expectations. Honestly, I was bored through most of it but since I love a spy/adventure novel I continued. This isn't even close to a Tom Clancy Russian/Soviet political thriller. As others have pointed out the main character is an evangelical Christian. This does not bother me at all and it is nice to see other religious perspectives in novels. The novel ends on a cliff hanger and I absolutely despise novels that do this. I will not be picking up the continuation. 4.5 stars. Rosenberg has written another excellent thriller about an oligarch Russian President, dedicated to restoring all of the satellites for Mother Russia. Aleksandr Ivanovich Luganov, ex-KGB, rises to prime minister, when a series of apartment bombs give him the right to attack Chechen rebels, and lead to his election as President. He recruits a lawyer, Oleg Kraskin, his future son-in-law, to become a senior aides. He is horrified as Luganov plans an attack on the NATO-member Baltic countries. Meanwhile, Marcus Ryker is attending college in Colorado with his hopeful fiancée, when his stepfather threatens his mother, and Marcus kills him. When his future father-in-law tells him to stop seeing his daughter, Marcus joins the Marines following 9-11, where he distinguishes himself by saving a U.S. Senator. Upon his return to the U.S. as a hero, he joins the Secret Service, marries his sweetheart, moves to Washington along with their son. A tragedy ensues, and Marcus retires until the Senator, contemplating a Presidential candidacy, asks him to protect him on a trip to the Europe. Oleg and Marcus separately decide that Luganov must be stopped at all costs. Gripping, scary, and realistic portrayal of world leaders, recommended. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

"New York Times bestselling author Joel C. Rosenberg returns with a high-stakes political thriller set in Russia. Everything he learned to protect the president, he must use to take out theirs. With an American president distracted by growing tensions in North Korea and Iran, an ominous new threat is emerging in Moscow. But in his blind spot is the former U.S. Secret Service agent, Marcus Ryker, trained to protect but ready to kill to save his country"-- Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

I have always been a fan of novels set in Russia in "The Kremlin Conspiracy" did not disappoint. With political intrigue, twists and turns, secrets, suspense, betrayals and lies, this was a difficult novel to put down, especially considering what is happening between Russia and Ukraine at the moment; it was the plot very plausible. The ending was a cliffhanger and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. ( )
