Threatening notes start showing up; people start dying. It's pretty typical stuff, exciting but not terribly original. It bothers me that the roommates decide who the killer is very early in the story. Without any kind of evidence or solid motive, they determine that it must have been a former friend because he left school four months after being rejected by Lylah. It's very random and contrived. The climax isn't all that surprising, and the final page possibly alluded to an absolutely unnecessary sequel.
