I has beautiful illustrations. ( ) What do you do with a chance? I'd say you go ahead and grab it, but sometimes that's easier said than done. Who among of us at any stage in our lives doesn't need this lovely little reminder to be brave and take chances. Once again Kobi Yamada and Mae Besom have brought us a beautifully illustrated story of bravery and hope. What happens when a chance shows up...and you don't take it? What about it you try to reach for it, but fall flat? Maybe it's better just to give up and play it safe...or maybe you just need to be ready. In Mae Besom's pencil and watercolor illustrations, chances are depicted as a sort of bright yellow, flying folded paper, a bit like an origami kite. What do you do with a chance? What if a chance was something that you could see, like a kite? Would you reach for it? Would you invest any time in trying to nurture it or protect it? Would you be brave enough to claim it as your own? Would you be proud of your chance, regardless of how it seems to others? Or would you just let it fly away? How many times would you ignore it before it stopped coming around? Would you miss it when you feel it starts to treat you like the fair weather friend you are? How would you feel if you see it being taken by someone else, your chance? What would you say then? Even though this book is under the disguise of a children's book, Kobi Yamada brings to reality a very real thought of the chances that we have, the opportunities that are presented to us at certain times in our lives, of which we do nothing with. And then, with the utmost indignation, we look life square and perpendicular in the face and say... I wish I had my chance. Laughable. love love love this book! I have had it read to me by a few professors! I like the imagery in this book a lot and for another professor it is what we did our lesson off of. This would be a good book for almost any age as the chance really is given a lot of imagery. This can also be used for so many life instances in school. Mirror sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
