Years in the making, Sarah J. Maas's #1New York Timesbestselling Throne of Glass series draws to an epic, unforgettable conclusion. Aelin Galathynius's journey from slave to king's assassin to the queen of a once-great kingdom reaches its heart-rending finale as war erupts across her world. . . An epic finale to an incredible series! I cried, laughed, and yelled at this book more times than I can count - and any book that makes me feel emotions /that/ strongly is a ten out of ten in my eyes! Everything from the tiny call out to the ACOTAR series, to the incredible depictions of the epic battles went above and beyond everything that I expected from this series. I often find that the conclusion of long series disappoints. But that was certainly not the case with this book! The only complaint I have is that there isn't more! ( )

I don’t know if I can even be objective about this book. I’m just exhausted and sad that it’s over. Need a few days to recover 😭😭😭 ( )

Why do you do this to me, Mass?
Why is this series over?
I stuck with it for so long... and now it's finished.

But, wow. Everything tied together really well. This series... is unexpected. I mean, who was expecting 'Celeana' to get together with Dorian or Chaol? EVERYONE!

I just wish that we got more time with Dorian and Manon so I could actually understand their relationship better.

But, this series has a slow start but an incredible finish!

Recommended!!! ( )

Wow... just, wow. I'm partially confused and partially sad. Its not everyday that you read a book were all the characters that you've come to like don't make it to the very end; its both refreshing and heartbreaking. I'm happy to finish this long journey with the characters that made it, though I would also love to have a small continuation, like some short stories, were some of the other ones get a more complete ending.

I'll be looking forward to any more books that Sarah J. Maas releases. As of now, she is my favorite author and I will gladly recommend her books to my fellow readers. ( )

The finale to the Throne of Glass series was somewhat of a dissapointment. While the plot was very well laid-out, and so many different things happen, it was horrendously stretched out. 800 pages of content and a great deal of it was redundant.

I mentioned in a previous review for this series that I've never been a huge fan of POV switching. And Maas reminded me why. Because some authors think every character is fair game for a POV, even when their perspective isn't significant to the plot. Add to the fact that some of the characters are next to useless for most of the series, and you should understand my disappointment.

Then add to that the romance that was shoved down the reader's throat with each major character, and—. Maas had a great idea for this series, but her execution of it incorporated many tropes of female-leading fantasy that are old fashioned and stereotypical. Romance is not the be-all-end-all to life, and I think these books would have been better if every character wasn't thrown onto another to satisfy their sudden libidos.

Aelin and Rowan I can understand, because their relationship is plot relevant. But the others? Especially Elide and Lorcan or Yrene and Chaol? In my opinion those characters would have had the opportunity to be more developed had they not had any romantic relationships at all.

None of the major characters died. All of them were described by others as being "stunningly beautiful" or some other adjective before "beautiful". There was a lot of things Mass could have fleshed out for her characters instead of making them all copy-paste, lusty romantics with a penchant for meeting (and "taking to bed") their "mate".

Don't get me wrong though. I did like this book. There were times were I was laughing, tearing up, and eagerly reading on. But there were enough downsides that I couldn't give it an honest four stars or more. ( )
