It's blowing up a storm, and a boy and his grandad decide it's the perfect weather for kite-flying. There's just one problem - first they have to find the kite. Their search brings up lots of wonderful memories of previous adventures together, but when they finally make it outside, their adventure really takes off! Esta crítica foi escrita no âmbito dos Primeiros Críticos do LibraryThing. I really like this book. It's simple and quiet and universal---even if we don't quite have this exact weather or this exact flora where I live, it still tells something true about the relationship between inside and outside and between generations.Esta crítica foi escrita no âmbito dos Primeiros Críticos do LibraryThing. Storm is one of four books about weather by Sam Usher and after reading Storm, I am interested in the other three. Storm is a book about a little boy who notices the wind outside and asks his grandfather if they can go outside. His grandfather declares it is the perfect weather to fly a kite but they first have to find it. They search the house and finally head outside to enjoy the windy, blustery day.I love how Storm portrays a storm as something to embrace and enjoy, especially outside. The arrival of the wind storm means going outside to fly a kite and have an adventure. The illustrations are beautifully drawn with vibrant fall colors and the raised texture of the front cover adds to the beauty of the book. I was surprised to see lightning in the final scenes when they are flying their kites, especially with no mention of it in the story. They are close to their house and watch the lightning from inside during the last scene, so perhaps the lightning signaled the end of their adventure. Storm is a lovely book and I can imagine it would be a wonderful companion to the other three books in the series. Esta crítica foi escrita no âmbito dos Primeiros Críticos do LibraryThing. This book is a nice story about a boy and his Granddad. As they look for a kite they find objects that remind them of special adventures they have had in the past. They finally find the kite and go on a quick fantastical adventure. I love the highlighting of a special relationship with a grandparent. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica

I'm really happy to see a book about storms where the main character is afraid of them. He not only is excited about the wind produced, but thrilled to be experiencing it with his grandfather. ( )
