This book is excellent, great story, clever writing and lots of funny laugh out loud moments.
When i started the book I hadn't read any blurb so i didn't realize it was about two best friends, Sam and Sid, Sam falls in love with Sid and he appears not to feel the same way. Normally i do not read these books because i don't like this type of story line but i love Megan O'Brein's other books so i read it anyway.

If you haven't read the author's other books i recommend you read The Ride Series, certainly as far as Ryker as the characters from these books make an appearance, its not essential as there is a brief back story explanation but i think it will make it better. Its great to find out how things are progressing in Piper and Rykers story too.

The book starts with the prologue where Sam and Sid have a falling out when she expresses how she feels and he hurts her, then the first chapter starts 6 months later, i thought this was an excellent idea as its not a quick fix to their issues but they have had time to work through what happened or at least try to.
I said earlier i usually don't like this type of story-line and one of the reasons is usually the whole story is the angst of will they won't they and the push and pull of the relationship usually with one person making themselves vulnerable and the other hurting them until they change their mind but this story isn't like that.
They have 6 months apart Sam finds herself in danger and Sid works for a security firm with Sam's brother so they want to make sure she's safe. I liked the way this is handled Sid had to work to show he loves Sam but they do get together quite quickly but it isn't really insta-love as they have so much history.
Sid is amazing, so swoon worthy he has sorted himself out and is not afraid to express how he feels. But also Sam is no push over she has her issues but she has some self defense skills and knows how to stick up for herself when needed.

You also don't get the stereo-typical her brother is furious his best friend loves his sister, which was refreshing.

This is the first book in the series so we are introduced to lots of other characters, friends and work mates and potential new story lines. There is also Brad an extra character who is funny and adds a little extra to the story.

So in summary i loved it, funny, clever and believable. Look forward to reading about Theo, Declan, Trent, Travis, Sarah and Trixie...

I just did a reread and I still love it. ( )
