I don't often read Historical novels, but this one peeked my interesting and how could I not like a retelling of Alice in Wonderland that had a twist!! Lily Van Der Houghton had gotten lost in a forest when her parents did not know that she had not stopped to admire something. She was lost for three days when she thought it was only hours! Now, finished with medical school Doctor Lily decided that she would bike the long forbidden trail after all she was in her thirties and could do anything that she wanted, what did not know that she some how landed back to 1763. I just loved the tall red head woman that enter travel travel back to the situation only wearing a bikini!! Her slang words were a hoot!! ( ) I wont say that the plot or the setting is boring. In dact it is the opposite. The characters seem intetesting, but as the story progresses, I find the characters rush through it. I mean Lily and Marc for example just jump to being erotically flirty. Neither does this suit the characters nor the time they are in. I will keep updating my view on this as I read further. The book rushes with the plot. The characters are uncosistent. The actions of the characters are not consistent with their characteristics, same is applicable to their speech. Some of the things are super unrealistic, one doesnot simply go shopping when their baby is missing or even crack jokes about someone being a duke; super inconsistent with characters and awkward jn the moment. The whole storytelling lacks a good steady flow and feels like the original book was cut to only 1/3rd. A lot of the facts are incorrect. I mean comeon! All babies have blue eyes when they are born!? Really? Global warming known to people in the 18th century? There are people who dont believe in it now. Overall I think this book not worthy to be read and wasted time on ( I wont say that the plot or the setting is boring. In dact it is the opposite.
