I heard a lot of good and great things like this, plus the cover is pink so like, obviously I was about it. And I hear reviews and it's like "Lord of the Flies but with girls" this and "feminist" that and I was on the hype train. And then I read it. And no. It was a lot of things. Maybe even too many things. Honestly, some of the metaphors and the imagery in general was fierce. But the romance felt... either not necessary or like not evolved enough? And then we get closer to the end and I'm like: "BRO WHAT?" and not in a good way. There was one spot where I was sort of getting into it and then that passed quickly, because again: this book was maybe too many things. Still love that cover tho.
