As someone who enjoys witchy picture-books - a perennial pet project of mine - I was pleased to discover Nattie Witch, a title first published in 1989 that, despite my almost obsessive interest in the story type, was hitherto completely unknown to me. I found it quite charming, appreciating its simple, descriptive narrative, which lists all sorts of everyday activities - having breakfast, riding to school, feeding the classroom pet - and the way in which this ordinary seeming narrative is paired with most extraordinary visuals, in the accompanying artwork. Recommended to picture-book readers who enjoy witchy fare that is more on the sweet side. ( )
