New York Police Captain Nikki Heat is accustomed to dealing with murders, even those with no leads and no motives. But having her husband as a suspect makes her newest case the most personal one yet. Nikki Heat does not like to be away from her husband, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Jameson Rook. But when Rook is given the honor to be a visiting professor at his alma mater, he can't pass up the opportunity to mentor bourgeoning journalists at his former award-winning college newspaper. Then one of Jameson's students is discovered, naked, in his bed. Now all eyes are on Jameson. Dealing with betrayal from any man is not Nikki's style. Against her better judgment, Nikki gives Jameson the benefit of the doubt and digs into Jameson's theory of an undergrad secret society.… (mais)

I decided to read the Nikki Heat series because I loved the tv series Castle which is what these books are based around. I liked how the books are written as if Richard Castle had really written it with the dedication and such. The story was fast paced and suspenseful. These books are true t the series without just rehashing the tv show. They add something slightly different but equally as good to the world of Nikki Heat. ( )

Crashing Heat is a new take on the Nikki Heat series. When Rook is accused of murder, Nikki goes to his old college to clear his name. While exploring a new part of Nikki’s past, Crashing Heat is hard to put down and keeps the reader guessing until the end however still leaves the reader with a few questions. ( )

Unfortunately, this series should have ended with the last book. There are too many mistakes. For example, Detective Hinesburg died several books ago. And how does Nikki, who is an only child, suddenly have a niece. It was distracting. ( )

Bin halt kein Fernsehgucker.
Dennoch ein unterhaltsames Buch. ( )
