Naming Colors feature so many interesting facts about how colors got their names. I also learned the order the first colors were named and why they got those names. I also enjoyed the pages that featured flowers, fruits and vegetables , animals, and jewels to show how the names from colors were derived from the name of the object, like Marigold yellow. ( ) A great concept in this book, but a little heavy on the information. It's full of great knowledge about how colors were named, what parts of the world the color name came from, and pretty much the history of color across the world. For any aspiring artist or creative mind this would be a fun book to read and possibly do further research on. In a classroom setting I could not see myself sitting down and reading this whole book to my students. If in a younger classroom we were focusing on color I would find the certain pages where that color's history and story is and just read that short excerpt. Interesting concept, fun idea but not my favorite in book format. While this book is packed with information about the origin of colors, it was very difficult for me to get through. I'm not sure if it was because of the format or the information itself wasn't quite as interesting as I thought it would be. Perhaps the pictures weren't as captivating as those which I imagined would be in a book about colors. That isn't to say that it's a bad book necessarily, it just wasn't what I thought, and I most likely would not read it again. sem críticas | adicionar uma crítica
